The Pope on Facebook?

Published by hatednation under General Edit This

So, news is out now that the Pope has chosen to embrace social networking. It doesn’t mean you can add him to your friends list or send him high fives.. but it does say something about our culture. Truth is (God Help me..lol) its “the Vatican” that has set up a Facebook page, and new application that will send you inspirational messages from the Pope.

This move to social networking come after the Vatican’s earlier technological step, when they started a Youtube channel earlier this year. The Catholic church is beginning to recognize the influence technology will have on younger generations, and the need to reach those moving forward with it.

Going with the bold move forward, the Vatican  has also set up a web page, ironically: www.pope2you.net Here you can share pictures of the Pope, follow his travels and speeches, and pick up I-Phone applications while your there.
